IcelandSeljalandsfoss
I love travelling in Iceland and Seljalandsfoss is one of the most spectacular waterfalls I have ever seen. You can walk behind the curtain of water as it tumbles over the cliff edge, magical.
JapanKyoto
Japan is another of my favorite destinations. The Golden Temple in Kyoto is breathtaking and the nearby Nara Deer park is simply beautiful.
Harvey joined the Kandoo team in 2025. He is an avid hiker and wildlife lover. In his travels he has swam with humpback whales in the Sunshine Coast in Australia, swam with dusky dolphins in Kaikoura New Zealand and completed many treks such as the Wakayama pilgrimage and Mount Fuji in Japan, the Annapurna circuit and Langtang treks in Nepal and many great walks whilst living and tour guiding in New Zealand. Harvey endeavors to complete increasingly more challenging expeditions and loves giving the chance to experience these incredible bucket list opportunities to you.

SvalbardLongyearbyen
There are incredible destinations all across the country, I travelled from the south to the North up to Svalbard in the arctic circle. On the way it felt like even when stopping at a petrol station you could see one of the most spectacular mountain views you’ve ever seen. The true silence In Svalbard in the arctic circle is breathtaking, something that is increasingly rare today.
IcelandLandmannalaugar
Iceland has some of the most spectacular highlights of any country I have been to. The scale of the waterfalls and dramatic landscape feels like you are in Jurassic times. Landmannalaugar felt alien due to its unique landscape shaped by the marks left by Hekla’s eruption in 2000, trekking in Iceland instantly became a lifelong memory.
NepalAnnapurna Region
I did two treks back-to-back in Nepal, I loved meeting like minded people and sharing the adventure with the people I met along the treks. Observing the layers of the mountains in Nepal from the green forested layers blending into the dark rocky, snow-capped peaks is mesmerizing. Whilst you’re trekking you will ascend then plateau through meadows (depending on season) then ascend further into high altitude mountain passes where life no longer survives in abundance, surrounded by snowy mountain peaks and rugged rocky paths. The variety in these multi day treks is unmatched with no two days the same.
Jenny is a keen climber and canyoner and has enjoyed travelling extensively around Europe in her big, blue van. Jenny has summited the Grande Cima in the Dolomites and Mount Aspiring in New Zealand to name a few. She has also travelled further afield to The Philippines and India on longer trips.

ItalyDolomites
In 2018, I went on a climbing trip to the Dolomites in my van. Camping in Cortina the Grande Cima towered above us and the Dibona Arete seemed like an amenable but interesting climb up it's prominent North East Arete, spurred on by one of the locals playing a tune in the refuge hut below.
SwitzerlandVillars-sur-Ollon
I have visited Switzerland fairly regularly from being a young child having family friends who live over there. The Swiss Alps are so beautiful and we often got woken by the cow's bells as they surrounded our van whilst out wild camping.
IcelandSouthern circuit
I recently visited Iceland in late October 2022, visiting multiple points along the Southern Circuit road including the Solheimajokull glacier, Reykjadalur hot springs and Skogafoss waterfalls....and of course, seeing the incredible Northern Lights from the bay in Reykjavik which was very unexpected!
Jo joined the sales team in 2022 and has a varied outdoor background including skiing, sailing, windsurfing, fell walking and trail running. When not in the Lake District, Jo’s adventure travel has taken her to France, Morocco, Nepal and most recently the Dolomites.

NepalLangtang
I was lucky enough to spend time in Langtang when I visited Nepal, and will never forget the kindness of the people and the breath-taking scenery.
MoroccoMt Toubkal
Climbing Mount Toubkal in the winter on a blue-sky day before heading back to the most delicious tagine and peppermint tea at the refuge is a memory that will stay with me forever.
FranceThe Alps
From family camping holidays as a child to my first jobs in the outdoors, some parts of France feel a bit like a second home….but there is so much more to explore!
ItalyThe Dolomites
Having recently visited the dolomites for the first time, I started planning my next trip before I’d left. Fantastic via ferata, hiking, scenery food, and everyone we met was so friendly and helpful.

IcelandLaugavegur Trek
The classic Laugavegur Trek in southern Iceland was one of the first trips I did with Kandoo Adventures. I love Iceland, the food, the landscapes, the people, the whole experience was just superb and I cant wait to go back one day and explore more.
Family holidays in Snowdonia as a child nurtured Rachel's love of walking in the mountains. Her love of adventure initially took her to Hong Kong where she spent her free time exploring the hiking trails of the New Territories. Travelling the world with her military husband, she was fortunate to be able to enjoy a host of new experiences. Her adventures have taken her from the depths of the Grand Canyon to the heights of Kilimanjaro, from the warmth of Mount Olympus to the chill of the Falkland Islands. Now settled back in the UK, Rachel joined Kandoo Adventures in 2010 as part of the sales team and developed extensive knowledge of trekking at high altitude. She now heads up our operations team and works closely with our local teams in each destination.

NepalGokyo Lakes
Turn left at the fork in the trail to head to Gokyo while everyone else continues on the main route to Everest Base Camp, and suddenly you have the Himalayas to yourself! The circuit to Gokyo is a fantastic addition to the normal EBC trek -the view of the lakes at sunrise from the top of Gokyo Ri, the trek across the Ngozumpa Glacier and the crossing of the Cho Las Pass are well worth the extra days involved.
TanzaniaKilimanjaro
Nothing can prepare you for the sheer magnitude of this mountain - as your plane flies alongside it as you come in to land at Kilimanjaro, the size of the challenge ahead becomes a reality! While everyone's goal is to reach the summit, there is joy to be found on every day of the ascent. Whether it is the sound of the monkeys above you in the rainforest, the singing of the porters in camp or the moment you emerge from the forest and realise that you are already looking down on the clouds, There are so many memories to be made before you get close to that summit sign.

High AtlasMt Toubkal
The High Atlas is one of my favourite mountain ranges. The scenery is spectacular and the Berber people are incredibly friendly and welcoming. This is the perfect trekking destination for anyone wanting a gentle introduction to altitude in an amazing location.
Indian HimalayaThe Valley of Flowers
One of the best treks I have ever done was undoubtedly the Valley of Flowers in the Garhwal Himalaya. Although it is only a very short trek, the reward is astounding. Over 600 species of flowers can be found in the valley including the rare Cobra Lily. The 6750m peak of Gauri Parbat dominates the head of the valley and the pushparvati river flows from the glacier at its feet. A simply incredible location hidden away in the high valleys of the Himalaya.
UgandaKidepo National Park
In the far north of Uganda, on the border with Kenya and South Sudan, Kidepo National Park feels like the end of the earth. It is so remote and hard to access that the park sees very few visitors ever. Wild camping on a small hill in the centre of the park, surrounded by herds of giraffe and buffalo and listening to the call of lions in the night was one of my all time favourite trips.
